There needs to be a register of people who commits crimes like this so they can be prevented from ever getting another pet. I can't understand why they haven't done it yet?!?

Arsehole, public naming and shaming needs to be brought in, why should his (and 99% of the time its a HE) name be with-held. Creep :D

The thing I don't get is why ? If you don't want an animal or like the animal, then drop it off at the local pound.

I'm afraid, that the kind of people who can do this kind of thing, either get off on it, or have anger-control issues. Some find it amusing to cause suffering to an animal, and others go on to graduate to crimes against people...Perhaps the poor puppy barked a lot, showed (probably rightful) aggression to these people(although, with most puppies this age, that would be unlikely), or pooped where he shouldn't have. There is no excusable reason for this torture and abuse. I hope this guy gets more than a slap on the wrist, but I doubt it. He has shown who the real animal was in this situation. Hope the poor doggie makes as full a recovery as possible.
