Last year it didnt get up at all  .

ETA: Just rang Estelle. Babies up to Thu ARE getting bench space. She doesnt know beyond Thursday as that is all they have done so far.

Gail

I am unclear what you mean - are you saying that they are not giving everyone a space for Babies entered in the Breed Classes? If that is the case then I can imagine they have no say in your baby being on display. No Bench - no Display. Could sleep quietly away in a trolley that is covered.

Reading some of the posts here makes me realise that this may be no better than last year. It was my first Royal last year (never been bothered before) and I was not particularly happy on a number of levels. I know the real workers like Estelle are doing possibly too much work and being lumbered with all sorts of jobs that maybe others could be doing. I am also aware that the RASV is more the problem than the Doggy people organising the Show. They have a different attitude to the welfare of the dogs & the processes and not a lot of empathy. I found the day very stressful but I promised Neville Hodgkins that I would come back and give it a second chance - after saying never again. I attended the Brisbane Royal recently and spent 4 days there in total, helping my friends as well as showing my dogs and it was great. I was impressed with how the whole thing was handled and would go back. I also found the benching quite secure for the dogs and while it was a little dark it certainly kept them safe from the public touching etc. Mine spent much of the 3 days they attended on their backs with legs in the air - sound asleep.

I will wait with baited breath to see if the benching appears but I am beginning to fear that this is a pipe dream. I'll be happy just to get all my dogs to the ring this year without injury - unlike last year.

Well it looks like our breed is right next to the door in L block, don't think we'll get much peace what with all the

screaming kids & babies walking past.

Glad I'm not bringing my baby puppy and that my boy is rock sold with crowds.

BB

Pity were not the same day, I'd totally swap with you lol.

I hear you ,I just loved to get the first few days before the school holidays thay were so quiet .But now thay have changed all that and the show is on the whole of the school holidays .I have to put my girl in her trolly for a break as she gets cranky by the end of the day .I know it is partly about the public but one can only take so much .Thay should shut the doors for us for an hour at lunch to give us all abreak ,it was great when I was at the Hobart Royal one year areal suprise and it feels good to get that break.
