I am very disappointed to say that an ultrasound this am found No puppies.

This experience has totally changed my thoughts on what to expect with a pseudo pregnancy. She has had some bloods taken so we will wait and see what the results tell us and We plan to do a swab in about 4 weeks time and work out a plan for her next season.

Sorry to hear there is no puppy. So it would seem that with a phantom you get possibly everything except the phantom puppy???

I wonder in these situations whether there was in fact a pregnancy but it was absorbed?

Better luck next time.

I have a female that I was absolutely sure was in whelp and due in 8 days. She has put on weight and filled out some but not as much as she did for her previous litter of 8 puppies. For the past 4 days she has been off her food and that is exactly what she did when she had her first litter but after an x-ray yesterday (but not a very good one) that said NO PUPPIES I am a little confused.

I think that I will continue to treat her as if due to whelp in 7 or 8 days, take temp each am & pm, install her in my whelping room and hopefully wait and see what happens.

AM I IN DENIAL? possibly yes. BUT hopeful.

We've all been there .... and the show can be a really good one, but unfortunately, more often than not it's all show and wishful thinking on the girl's part.
