wagsalot
Every day without fail when I come home, I open the door to the laundry and Riley is always sat up in his bed waiting for me. Today I got home and opened the door and Riley's bed was empty. My heart sank and all these horrible thoughts went through my mind. I raced outside yelling Riley's name and there he was, perfectly fine, on the deck. He was in a patch of sun and must of been asleep and didn't hear me come home for once. It was a horrible feeling though not seeing him there. I told him never to do that ever again!
~*Shell*~
Lol - i know that feeling where your blood runs cold and you're so sure that something has happened to them. It happens to me when I get home and Zero's nose isn't under the gate. He's always waiting for me so when I open the gate and he's not there, i freak! Skruffy n Flea
yup! my two go a bit nuts when we arrive home and they start going off when we pull up in the driveway SO bella's the first to make her sound and i kinda semi hold my breath waiting to hear byron's muf sound and so when i do i breathe, 'til i get in the house and then i kinda stop breathing again 'til i spot bobbie... then comes the sigh and everything's right with the world i know it's not necessarily a good thing that dogs react in such a way but i can't think of anyone else that's that happy to see me and is so beside itself that it just about needs to swallow me --- i love this part of dog ownership
Skruffy n Flea
oops, sorry, i got a bit carried away --- i get a bit tense if i don't hear both dogs go off and of course, if i can't find bobbie in 2 seconds flat then, yeah, i'm going to mush... tdierikx
Mine all know the sound of my car pulling into the drive... and they let me know before I've opened the door that they are all where they are supposed to be... *grin* T.
Brennan's Mum
I panic even if I am home, go out to the back yard when Brennan is playing and can not see her because she is hidden around the side of the house....
corvus
My last dog used to do things like that to me. She'd secrete herself away somewhere and because she was almost deaf I would come home and be calling her for ten minutes, heart pounding, before she'd finally appear behind me. A few weeks ago Kivi disappeared. I came out of the shower and thought I heard a dog cry out, and then I couldn't find Kivi. I was in a frenzy! It turned out the gate hadn't closed properly and he'd taken himself for a walk. Fortunately, we live in a cul de sac and he hadn't gone far. He came wandering back in the gate when I emergency recalled him.
wagsalot
The funniest thing was when I finally saw him, he looked at me with a surprised look (well as surprised as dogs can look ) as if he was shocked himself that he didn't hear me come home!
