I have to say - training or not, when I got Tango he would not have been able to be taken for walks without the harness. To me if someone wants to use a no pull harness and doesn't also get in a trainer - at least the dog is being taken for a walk. Tango was trained with treats etc but it was impossible to do that when I just had him on the collar. Once I had a bit more control of him it was all easier.

Is the sporn harness hard to put on. My two get excited at the prospect for a walk and dont want anything to fiddly to put on.

Hi, I find it really easy to slip on - like putting on a singlet!! The sporn mesh harness is one piece - there are no clips to do and undo. You slip it over the head and lift the legs through the loops, it really is that easy. On the sporn website, there is a video to watch on how to put on, fit etc. (www.sporn.com).

The Sporn is great.

It tightens around the legs when the dog pulls.

That plus training Loose leash walking and Esky walks well on a flat collar 99% of the time.

The front attaching harnesses are highly recommended by our trainer, and I saw the improvement in the other dogs in our class that used them.

If you take your dog into somewhere like Petstock they will help you fit them properly and let you have a test run.

Might help you to make up your mind on a front attach or a sporn style.

I would not get a regular harness as they are used for pulling.
