Thanks lic and yellowgirl - he might need all those thoughts and crossed bits

Yellowgirl - glad to know I'm not the only one who experiences this wierd stuff - but it's a shame people can't show a bit more respect ay. *sigh*

ETA Now I'm frantically trying to dredge up all my memories of all those things I used to know like how to house-train a puppy and what to feed him and how to stop him chewing up things and what not...

SC ~ Glad the change of phone worked  I always seem to get the weird ones on the phone. I'm also real glad you are getting this baby. I don't think you will have any problems with your other two, dogs tend to sense that puppies are baby's and make allowances beyond the normal for them.

I have to go out in the morning, but I'll be rushing back on here to get any news, so keep us updated please and its a no brainer we need lots of pictures to satisfy our puppy addictions OK?

Awww it's so nice having people to share the anticipation with

Just for those who are staying tuned:

The puppy is due to be picked up at 2.30 - 3 ish tomorrow - but of course I cant get the owners on the phone to confirm that's okay. I have left two messages to that effect and emailed them so hopefully someone will be home when the lady turns up for him...... So for now I'm assuming it will be okay *hmmmm

If they are not there I'll get a phone call so if anything's gone horribly wrong I'll know by 3 oclock.

Anyway, all going well, there won't be any news till at least 5 pm as it's about an hour and a half's winding drive back here from Launceston. Also I've arranged for a neighbour to help me intro the dogs outside of the property when he gets here so we'll be down the park for a while before he comes into the house.

I'm busy cleaning up around the house and yard - looking for puppy hazards and escape routes. I'm also wondering where I can get a secondhand crate to borrow or buy.

I haven't been back to the start of the thread (sorry) and I'm only familiar with NSW procedures, but is the pup microchipped or registered? Do you need to have a change of ownership form ready for the owners to sign, or a stat dec type thing to say that they are relinquishing ownership to you? Better to be prepared now than try to chase them down for it later, if it's needed.

Good luck! Lucky puppy having you to look out for him!

I know :rofl: The waiting is awful. Imagine what s/chick is going through if we are biting nails and gnashing teeth

nup! couldn't imagine at all but if i were her, i'd also be having a tipple or two --- so with all this gnawing and gnashing and drinking, i'd say between the three of us, we got the edge on outward nervous behaviours...

spotty, this has GOT to be a difficult time for you right now; with the owners playing oddball games, interesting telephone chatter and your need to see skooda/rumba/skipper/rambo safe and sound in your hands...

keep the faith and hold steady; he'll be yours before you know it ;)

Katdogs has brought up a good point. If the pup isn't chipped or registered make sure you have something in writing to say that they have transferred ownership of the dog to you.

Let me know if you'd like me to email a copy of a Transfer of Dog Ownership form to you. It's a form from Central Animal Records to change microchip details when there's a change of ownership, but once the details of both parties are filled in and signed it should be good enough proof that they signed the dog over to you.

Yes that would be good yellowgirl. I'll print it and fill it out then give it to the lady who's going to pick him up.

I'll PM you
