Beth.
I thought i'd just put a reminder out there to everyone that tick season is apon us.... I work in an emergency clinic and they've started coming in again - so just a little reminder to check your dogs thoroughly for ticks after being out and about in tick areas - I check my girl daily at least when i'm in Bris, just to be on the safe side ETA: And cats as well Edited September 4, 2010 by LuvLottie
GoldenGirl85
Is there anything that will treat just ticks? my dogs dont require flea treatment but it seems that every tick treatment also treats fleas, Id rather just treat for fleas with a wash if they happen to get them
ESCS
There is Proban tablets. It's mainly for ticks although it says it is for fleas too but our vet have said it is not very effective for fleas. Our dog goes on Proban from September until May and has a break during the winter months. He has skin allergies so this has been a good option for us as he reacts to anything topical. He hasn't had a tick while on Proban but we check him everyday anyway as I have heard nothing is 100% full proof against ticks. There are tick collars too but I don't know much about them as our dog can't use them and I wasn't keen on the kids having contact with a tick collar either.
