no sighting again of puppy, again those eyes from the dark were there creeping me out :swing:

we drove around a bit having a look around, and he hadnt returned after 15-20 mins to eat the food.

but yesterdays food was long gone, not a trace of its stickyness to be seen

I wonder if he is a day napper and night prowler. Is that the normal instinct of a dog?

Thanks BnS, sorry about your arse :p

I have a bit of a personal issue of laughing when people take a stack :o

ok, quick search and yes they are nocturnal. http://www.leadingsheep.com.au/tracksandtr...Sect%201_7b.pdf

Wild dogs are nocturnal hunters and

unless food is particularly scarce they

won’t be visible during daylight hours. As a

consequence, without careful monitoring it

can be difficult to determine how serious

your wild dog problem is. Monitoring will

also allow you to determine the

effectiveness of control programs and

identify likely trapping sites.

Signs of a wild dog population include

well-worn beats around their home range

boundary, footprints, and stressed

livestock. (Refer to Part 1; Section 1 for a

list of common indicators provided by Don

Sallway).
