Will the results of this survey be put on DOL and what ever happened to the health survey results?

Yes Im happy to put the results of this one on dogz.

The health surveys are still happening.

They are down at the moment because we have only just gotten a new website but they will be back in the next day or two.

There are over 3000 responses so far in that one but compiling them is huge.

Lots of really interesting things showing up as we have been collecting data for almost a year so there is a good spread of respondents.

Those graphs are interesting. Do you think that the reason people only breed for 3-5 years is they have one bitch, breed from her twice and then desex and not have another breeding bitch?

Id say so - other similar studies have shown people stay in breeding for an average of around 6 years so it looks like this is backing that up.

What it means though is that the majority of people who are breeding are at the low end of the experience end.

Does it differentiate between registered & non registered breeders, Steve? I'd wonder if many non registered people just breed their pet bitch once or twice to keep a puppy or make a bit of cash or let their kids experience the miracle of birth. And perhaps on average registered breeders stay around bit longer? :grouphug:

That's a bit scary. It would be interesting to know which breeds people stay with the longest. Like when there is a fad and everyone is breeding a popular breed vs people who have a not so over bred breed.
