Advice Needed For Stitches

My dog recently got his eye removed and so they stitched up his eye. Anyway right now it looks like there is a flap of skin that is not stitched up properly. Is this something to worry about and should i take him back to the vet?

Not sure what to do but will probably call up the vet tomorrow anyway.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, when did he have surgery?

Did it look like that when you picked him up from the vet?

I have seen eye ablations before and that just does not look right to me.

Do you have a full head photo as it might look different?

When I picked him up i thought that it looked a bit jagged but now it seems to be sticking out a bit more? I didn't think much of it at first because they checked him over before he was discharged. I've uploaded another photo. I would upload more in the post but can't seem to upload more than one without going over the limit =/

Wow - di they have to cut his eyelid when they did the surgery???

When my girl had a front leg amputated I freaked out as there was lots of fat, hanging out non matching egdes. It wasnt a straight line, and of course the vet wasnt a plastic surgeon. However, as it healed it was as smooth as, and she hardly had a scar. Quite impressive I thought for such a large area.

I hope your dear dog recovers well, and if youre worried, Id go back to the vet!

I feel much better now. he has to go back to the ophthalmologist on monday anyway so im glad i didnt have to take him there for no reason since its so damn far. Thanks for the advice, much appreciated

and labrat i have no idea if they had to cut the eyelid. i realised that i never asked so i dno how it will stay sealed up after the stitches are out. gonna ask the vet next time. anyway i hope it heals up as well as your dogs leg did so that he can have a nice wink for the rest of his life.
