LaurenElla
Hi all I am new to this place. I am getting a French Bulldog next week and I want to make sure I have a good vet. I live in Carina (Brisbane) and would like one close by that is good with the type of breed. I know they have a lot of health issues to want someone that knows what they are doing. Anyone have any good vets with those sorts of dogs?
SammieS
Hi! We go to Acacia Ridge Vet Surgery, Bowden is great! He sees Asti and my friends Pug. I know that a couple of other people with Pugs drive down from Ipswich to see him. Sammie

If you have a well bred Frenchie from a reputable breeder then you shouldnt need a vet too often Where is the breeder? If they are in Brisbane did they have any recommendations? Guest Ams
I used to use Greencross Vets at Woolloongabba. They developed special protocols for brachy breeds under anaesthetic and operate with the table tilted. They are very expensive but the staff are wonderful. The only reason I no longer use them is I got into rescue work and could not afford their fees so I've moved to Anvet Kedron who provide fabulous service at a much reduced price (I do get rescue rates now for the rescue dogs). With all the shar pei they have done for me I would think they have to be fairly good at dealing with them now but they are on the north side. LaurenElla
Ah thank you so much. Wollengabba is really close to me. When you say they charge way more. Like how much more? I have no idea how much it cost to go to a vet. I used to use Greencross Vets at Woolloongabba. They developed special protocols for brachy breeds under anaesthetic and operate with the table tilted. carrie
Currently a standard consult at a Greencross is about $60, and a c5 vaccination is about $85 including consult. W'Gabba are fantastic, the vets there have looked after my dogs in the past and I was really happy with all of them.

huski
What kinda pricing is Animal Options? I have heard they are amazing!!! They aren't the cheapest place around because they are specialists, I usually pay around $80-$100 I think for a standard consult (incl. chiro work)... really depends on what you are going for and getting done. I try to take the poochies every six months, TOTALLY worth it - Rowan is amazing. I wouldn't take the dogs anywhere else (unless in an emergency - Animal Options is a good 40 minute drive for me).
