Scarlet
In an amazing tale of survival, Brandi the Catahoula hunting dog spent eight months fending for herself on Woody Island off the coast of Hervey Bay before being rescued and reunited with her family today. She was spooked by fireworks on New Year’s Eve, broke her chain and sprinted off, running right to the end of the Urangan pier and jumping into the ocean about midnight. Her family, who were on holidays from Gympie, searched for her but eventually gave her up for dead – they thought she must have drowned or been taken by sharks. But Brandi survived and Fraser Coast Regional Council officers delivered her back into their loving arms today. http://www.frasercoastchronicle.com.au/sto...-tale-survival/ Brandi wasn't microchipped and the council staff did a marvelous job finding the owners, going through old newspapers looking at lost and found pets etc.
Kirislin
wow, this is the second story of a dog being lost on an island. there was one about a year ago, a cattle dog I think. very similar story otherwise from memory although the other dog might have been lost longer. Guest
Amazing story, I think fire works display's should be banned and laser light display's shown instead, I always think of the poor animals at annual show's when the show's put on their closing firework's display's. lablove
