quickbrownfox
My boy loves tug toys, squeaky toys and anything that can be easily destroyed, like cardboard boxes. I got my tug toy from Payton's Toy Box (they make customized dog toys and leads. smisch on DOL sometimes does a bulk order, the next one I think is in September if you're interested) There are numerous threads about puppy toys on here to search for. Here are just a few: link link link link

Red Fox
Toys for training or toys for keeping pup entertained? For the latter anything interactive is good: Kongs, Orbee toys, tug-a-jug, treat balls, squeaky toys... Pigs ears seem okay when the puppy is really young and takes days to get through, but they stink and can be a choking hazard. A real bone or a chew toy is a better option IMO
lilli_star
I have an almost 14 wk old Labrador puppy and she has lots of toys, but I'm always looking for more ideas to keep her entertained! :D She has- a puppy kong (so far hasn't shown much interest in eating what's in it though ) and a teething stick Kong, some stuffed toys (a cow and a ring for outside that I got from Big W, polar bear from Petbarn she sleeps with inside, a rabbit from Petbarn for inside, and a pig with no eyes now), some squeaky toys ($2 shops), a rope toy for inside and one for outside, plastic bottles (like milk or Coke), a handbag thingy that she can chew and put treats in it, and a small Canine Genius Leo. Oh, and as of today, she now has her very own sandpit! Spoilt thing! She also gets pigs or deer ears occasionally, or a rawhide chew stick, and bones. Her first pigs ear lasted a week- now they barely last 10 minutes! I've learnt the hard way that Petbarn are REALLY expensive, so if you can buy online, then you'll definitely save money. Big W and the $2 shops also have some good toys. I also leave out cardboard boxes with treats inside for her to demolish while I'm at work What kind of puppy are you getting? fiveplusone
its taken me a while to find toys which my GSP pup can't destroy in 5 minutes but finally found some good stuff which he just loves. It the tough by nature range (good cuz ball, bad cuz, octupus etc) and they are tough enough for him! I buy them from a particular ebay store and they are a good price and she posts them to me really quick. And they have a really fun squeeking noise which he likes too. BMAK
you dont need to go out and buy thousands of toy to entertain your pup. put two or three different ones in the yard everyday and mix them up everyday your dog wont take any notice that they are the same toys. what i did with my pup now adult was to feed her breakfast and dinner in a large treat ball, but instead of treats i used it for the breakie and dinner to keep her mentally stimulated and feeding her at the same time. and she wasnt able to guts her kibble because she has to nudge it for the kibble to fall out which took her ages and keeped her entertained with food and she wasn't being over fed. so a double win in keeping your dog busy/mentally/physically active.
