what a weekend....on Saturday I received an email advising me of the dog assessment day for the Delta Pet Therapy Program for Dezzy.....we went to OB on Sunday and it started off badly.....Dezzy was snapped at by two dogs for just walking past (poor Dezzy)....he stayed very close to my leg after that....we then went and did our OB training (our 2nd lesson in Group 4 which is all off lead) and Tamika took Jessie and did her childrens classes.....we were about to do our change of position and Jessie comes hurtling across and her and Dezzy take off....we called Dezzy back and he went straight to the instructor and Jessie came to me.....Tamika got Jessie back and we finished our change of position and continued class.....in the 1 min sit stay the dog next to Dezzy went up to him and started to sniff him all over....like a good boy Dezzy just sat there and loved it.....we finished class and was waiting for Tamika and Jessie to finish and was asked to stay back

the Secretary of the Club went into the rooms and came out with three trophies from their Presentation Night..... Tamika and Jessie was awarded with most improved child handler and dog team....go Tamika and Jessie....Tamika was over the moon

Dezzy and myself was awarded with most improved dog or bitch (saying I am not the bitch...lol) for the year and the encouragement award....once told about the story behind the encouragement award I felt so overwhelmed.....we got a trophy and our names will be put on a big trophy that stays in the club rooms

I am sooooo happy as we attend an OB club that has 700+ members and to receive one of the highest awards for the presentation night I was over the moon

Dezzy and myself will hopefully be trialling in OB soon (I just need to get over my nerves...lol) and hopefully we will get Jessie going in Agility....she is so fast I think she will be good at Agility or even Flyball

Well done guys, love to hear happy dog stories!! Keep up the good work.....

Curious as to the delta date? Did they give you an exact date for the dogs assessment? & human induction day? I haven't heard anything yet, was worried as I am going on holidays this week.

That's great, hope I will get notification soon too, I am looking forward to it, and work is a bit of an issue, they need a bit of notice for me to have a day off, so they can get someone else to do my shift!

Also meant to say in my first post how awesome to have your names up in the club room on a big trophy!!

Well done to your son, he sounds like a special boy!

I have mailed all paperwork apart from the police check, it did say in the paperwork to bring that on the day. I'm not even sure what to do with it, am I supposed to take it to my local police station?

Sorry for rail roading your thread!

this email said to send it in before the 18/9 and it is a Federal Police Check....u just fill it out and then send it to the lady where u sent ur other forms and then they send it off for the check to be done, I thought to bring it on the day too but have re-read email and it says they want it before the 18/9....u r not rail roading at all.....will help when I can

just re-read email and they want the police check and all paperwork in asap and definitely before 18/9...they will send definite dates and times for 18/9 at a later date and they said if you cannot make it for the training day (not confirmed but put in for Sunday 26/9) it be best not to have ur dogs assessed this time...u must be able to attend traning day as well

I don't work Sundays so that will be good but my boss said as soon as I know date to let him know. Have you had your police check done? Did it take long, I might have to head to the cop shop tomorow to get mine sorted.I might email Vanda in the morning and just make sure my application hasn't been over looked although I did get the letter saying she had my paperwork?

thanks Rommi n Lewis.....we all love our dogs and love working with them....we have a ball....and am so with you on the bull breeds

tlc you don't need to get the police check Delta does it for you that is why when u get the papers just fill it out and send it to Vanda....I dont think it costs them anything but it will cost you that is why they send it for you.....they are not definite with the Sunday but apparently the 18/9 has been booked....they will send it all out to you....even the police check with the appropriate numbers etc

my son will alternate with his sister doing OB with Jessie as he has now finished Auskick and wants to go back to do OB.....which is great as I think kids teaching a dog things boost their self confidence and they are proud with what they do

Hi DezzyNo.1.

I have watched you and your dog on Sunday mornings and you deserved the award that was presented to you and your dog. You have put in the training to allow you to get to Class 4.

I also want to wish you and your dog luck in the upcoming assessment to become part of the Delta Pet Partner group.

Gambit has been a Delta Dog on and off for a number of years. He loves visiting people in the homes. Not only because he gets lots of cuddles but lots and lots of treats. He is known as the talking dog because he talks as soon as he reaches the front door, and if no one opens the door immediately he informs them that he is waiting.

The Delta members are great and you might want to say hello to Frank on Sunday morning. He is our Boss along with Kathy.

Tell Vanda I said Hello and ask her to give Scooby a cuddle from me.

Thanks Gamby, I saw another post from you and thought I had seen you and your gorgeous dog before.....it is Frank who I have been talking to and who got me to put Dezzy through the Delta program...I am excited about it all and hopefully we will pass......I don't think I have seen Kathy before but am sure that I wll get to meet her at some stage....I hope if we do pass that we can bring happy times for people who are sick....Dezzy loves cuddles and kisses and I am sure they will get a kick out of him because if he gets treats he speaks for them which I find most people think is quite funny especiallly when I am using food for training and he starts to speak for the food....lol....will have to catch up and say hello and I will certainly say hello to Vanda for you and get her to give Scooby a cuddle for you

thanks again for your kind comments
