I've just found information that I thought everyone who feeds Eukanuba should be informed.

P&G Pet Care Issues Voluntary Recall of limited Eukanuba Dry Pet Foods

Sydney Australia August 6, 2010 - The Procter & Gamble Pet Care Company is voluntarily recalling its Eukanuba Veterinary Diets dry formulas and a limited number of Eukanuba specialised formulas as a precautionary measure.

These voluntarily recalled products are made in a single, specialised facility in the United States and P&G Pet Care recently determined that some products made at this facility may not meet its high quality standards. Whilst P&G Pet Care sets a benchmark for Quality Assurance that meets and in many cases exceeds industry standards for pet food safety P&G Pet Care is still taking the precautionary measure of recalling all products made at this facility.

It is important to note that all other Iams and Eukanuba products are safe and continue to provide the high quality nutrition that cats and dogs need.

Consumers are being requested to immediately discontinue feeding the recalled products to their pets and contact the Eukanuba hotline in Australia on 1800 033 608 (Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm) and in New-Zealand on 0 800 738 546 for a full refund and information about appropriate disposal of the product.

For any pet related health issues please contact your local veterinarian. P&G Pet Care apologises for any inconvenience this voluntary recall causes and are working as a priority to resupply these products as soon as possible.

Mark greeted me this evening with "The vets just rang. The dog food has been recalled" How am I supposed to get 13kgs of dog food that is in 2 different tubs back to the vets?

Was it the risk of Salmonella that was the problem? Surely it can't be worse than the horse & cow poo she eats & rolls in?
