Ker
My mum called me regarding a dog that needed a new home (that's surprising in itself ). Her vet was asking her where she got her Sophie from, and mum told her about rescue. Her vet had a client bring in his badly injured, unconscious Sibe. Dakotah was 2 years old and was attacked viciously by the owners other dog. The vet started to work on him and more and more things needed to be done. The owners said that they couldn't afford more treatment and they would have to euth him. The vet, Irena and a vet nurse, Bronwyn, suggested they surrender Dakotah to them and they would continue the work, rehabilitate him and adopt him out. That's where I come in. They wanted my help to rehome him. I went yesterday to take photos of Dakotah. Beautiful boy. He was enchanted by my daughter and not all that interested in the kittens up for adoption in the waiting room. VERY strong dog, typical Sibe. He is still injured and won't be ready to go to a new home for a few weeks yet. As it turns out, Bronwyn found him a new home through Husky Rescue so didn't need my help. But were it not for her and the vet, Irena, Dakotah wouldn't be here at all. They spent their own time, and money, fixing him up and rehabilitating him. Irena took him home every night with her and brought him to work with her daily. So a BIG ;) and to Pets Universe, Northgate, for going above and beyond the call to help an animal in need. Ker
Here is their web page http://www.petuniverse.com.au/ They are on the corner of Folland and Fosters Rd, Northgate. They also have another clinic at Broadview (about 10 mins from there). Mum takes her dogs there and the dogs LOVE them. Sophie tells the vet "Herro!" GSD FAN
I know one of the vets there. used to work for him - not a very nice man to work with. But the rest of the staff that I have met through another job were always lovely when I entered the clinic
