In Memory Of Giant Jack

Today a special friend of mine passed away. He was a gentle giant. He had a hard life, and a hard exterior to match. But those who broke down his tough shell managed to see the real Jackster. I fell in love with the gentle giant. When I first met him, he scared me. I automatically dismissed him as a savage, dangerous dog. Luckily for me, I persevered. The ugly mutt showed me his soft interior once he knew I was a regular visitor to his place. Many a day was spent with the big galumph sitting on my foot for back rubs, or his massive head nudging me for ear scratches.

I didn't know him for very long. But the time I spent with him will be cherished. He was big, lumpy, cranky and short-tempered. Guess what? SO AM I!!!

Rest in peace darling J. I will miss you. But I won't forget you. The tears I shed are partly selfish, because my time with you was short, and partly happy tears, because I know you are no longer in pain. Run free big boy :)
