GoldenGirl85
Just wondering does anyone have this harness? Im after a new one for my JRT and this one looks like it should fit the bill I want something which can double as a walking harness, it cant be too chunky as I already have one of the chunky ones you can get at the supermarket and she thinks she cant walk with it on...poor lass. I also like the seat belt loop that comes with it because this style stops her movement in the car and helps her to relax because she cant see out the window My main concern with these harnesses is that the buckle seems confusing, Ive never actually seen the harness so it could just be my imagination telling me stories, but the description on the website seems a bit weird So anyway, who has one and what do you think of it? Staff'n'Toller
The buckle is a bit weird but once you get used to it you'll be fine. Two rings go thru the plate so you can clip a) a lead on or b) the seat belt strap (or both) and there is an extra little attachment that you can leave on or take off, it just joins the neck and the chest parts together in case they are zooming around off lead. They are very low profile for walking.
GoldenGirl85
Oh I think I get it now, so both straps go under the belly and clip either side of the back piece, then you need to attach a lead or something to hold it all together? What do you mean by very low profile for walking?
Staff'n'Toller
Yes that's correct the straps all come together, and hey have added a small tab with a snap hook to hold the rings through the plates when they are off the lead. By low profile I mean it's nice and thin and the straps are narrower compared with the kramar seat belt harness for example.
GoldenGirl85
Thats good, it sounds like what I want in a harness Now just to pick a colour, I really like that apple green, but by coincidence everything I have for Tess is purple now, so I wonder if I should go with purple so it matches everything else lol
Paulp
When I was carting my dogs around in a sedan I used BD harnesses. Once you are used to it the buckle is easy and I think it is far stronger than other types of attachment you find on car harnesses. I would highly recommend them. If your dog is a puller using any sort of car harness to walk a dog gives it a great amount of leverage to pull against and encourages it.
