Loving my Oldies
Taking advantage of a brief break in the continual rain my part of Sydney has been experiencing for weeks (another cause for vent ;) ), I hooked all the dogs up and set off for a walk. Almost to the top of my driveway, when my eyes nearly fell out of my head. Someone had allowed their dog to come right inside my property and crap . It is half on the concrete of the driveway and half on very short grass so there is no chance of missing it and very easy to collect. (I have a low fence, but no main gate.) If the dog had been off the lead, well that's illegal, and if the dog had been on a lead, it would have had to have been a very long lead for the owner not to have seen that the dog was crapping. If they had been walking at night poor light can't be an excuse either, as I have a light which shines down my driveway, there is a very bright street light across the road and there is almost a full moon at the moment. Have I covered all the excuses a person could make? If they have a bad back they shouldn't be walking the dog unless it is in a nappy . I'm going to ring the rangers and write to local paper :D . And put a sign at my driveway.
W Sibs
Ohh... I feel your anger, MM!!!! I have the same problem at the moment!!! I often find a huge pile of crap in my driveway too!! It's all concrete (no grass anywhere).. so it's very obvious it's there. And, the poo pile is massive... the size of my hand and whatever the guy is feeding his dog, he needs to change their diet because it doesn't look healthy!!! Every few days, I have to hose my driveway!!! it fricken annoying. I'm setting up a camera to the driveway to catch the jerk and the dog that does that! Short of doing dna tests on every dog in the neighbourhood, I don't think I will have any success. I think people just don't give a damn about other people and their property frankly. It beats me
Kayne's Mum
I feel your anger. Our place appears to be the public loo. Dogs crap in the yard and cats pissing on our verandah - spraying on my plants, shoes, etc.

Thanks! Me too! Like you I'm beyond being nice and tolerant about it... first few times, I was like 'oh whatever' but it's becoming a weekly thing now and it's annoying as hell... especially when the crap isn't easy to pick up or clean! It's starting to leave a stain on the driveway now! And, I'm renting at the moment
megan_
CW_EW: Take the day off work, spend 24/7 spying on the area and follow them home. Let them do this for a whole week and collect and store the poo. Then drop it off at thier home.
FranVT
Yeah do that! Alternatively, hide in wait with a high-velocity hose (with a trigger thing) and when the dog comes to do its business spray the sh*t outta the owner

HeavyPaws
At exactly 11 every morning and 4 every afternoon, the guy across the road from my house walks out of the house with his whatever-oodle, the stands next to his fence nice and casual, he looks left, he looks right, and then he bends, picks up his dog, lifts him over the fence, looks the other way while the dog dumps a load on the neighbour's lawn, and then lifts the dog over the fence again. I swear to god, I am utterly serious. The first time I saw him do it I was walking to the station and I stopped to stare. Now that I leave for two hour long walks a day, I see him do it. 11:00 rolls around, and BAM, he's there. It's insane!

LizT
Our neighbours big fat Rodesian Ridgeback (I love the breed but this boy was BIG AND FAT!) used to come over early in the mornings re-mark my front lawn and take a crap.....EVERY morning!! And we are on five acres and so is the neighbour! Couldn't he find somewhere in the five acres to do his business besides my front lawn! In the interest of neighbour relations I never complained as this neighbour used to let us graze his paddocks for free...this continued until he dog proofed his property as his dog was an entire male and unregistered so he must have decided to fence him in. I really, really liked this dog and he came over to play with my old German Shepherd and they were good mates but I still got peeved when 'Cannon' crapped on my lawn. I have enough dog sh12 to clean up without doing his MEGA ones too (I swea rthey made my GSD's droppings look like a Cavaliers in comparison!) I now have a fenced off front garden so passing poopers can get in! Perhaps the 'perp' just needed to go at the time he was passing by and won't come by your way at his 'time of need again', you might be lucky! Hope you don't get a 'serial offender' like I did! Hope you don't get a 'serial offender' like I did! I think you might be right . I just made a big sign on a cork board (not a good idea with all the rain, but all I had :D ) saying: CCTV now installed to catch the owner who lets his/her dog crap in my garden. Giggling to myself and feeling as though I should audition for "Grumpy Old Women" I took it out to prop against the fence and the poop IS GONE. Not a vestige of it left. I checked my car tyres to see if I'd collected it that way, but nothing!! So maybe the person WAS caught short of plastic bags. Who knows Edited July 30, 2010 by Mother Moocher
Skitch
Ewww.. that sucks. I caught a man allowing a dog to poop on our front lawn, pretty much on a rose bush once and rushed outside and gave him a serve! He didn't even have anything to pick it up with so I gave him a tiny plastic bag and he had to pick up a very large poop with that and then walk home with it! Serves him right.. How do you know it wasn't a stray dog though?
aussielover
You know whats worse? People who actually pick up the poo but then leave the bags on the ground and "forget" to take them or leave it to hang on tree branches which I find quite disgusting. How much extra effort does it take to walk to a bin, you've done the "yucky" part already! At least S*** that is left on the grass will degrade over a few days but left in a bag it might be there for years Edited July 30, 2010 by aussielover
