Whipitgood
I have only ever shown my dogs so i am totally ignorant to obedience training! Can anyone enlighten me please! I would like to get into some dog sports and i thought obedience would be a good place to start, i will also go back and do agility again. I have a puppy, a 1 year old and a 5 year old and will probably focus on the youngsters. Are there different types of obedience training and what are the best classes to go to SOR in Perth. I live in Kelmscott, so im close to Dogs West grounds if there are good classes there. Thanks

Thanks Southern River is undoubtedly your best bet, you will be started of at the beginning and progress up the ladder to pre trial then trial. Southern River I believe is also doing Rally at present, they do not train during school holidays, beginner dogs start at seven best get there a little early with all our info and enrol take along immunise certs. I live in Kelmscott, .. and would love to do obedience as well - but my puppy is fitting more into the slug department at the moment. From what I have seen, Southern River is prob the best place, thou the German Shep Ass also does a bit...
joelle
Yup, Southern River 7 pm MOndays. As said above, we dont train on school hols and if you havent enrolled you cant just join a class. The next enrolments are probably the first Monday BACK at school term - whenever that is. Term run for 10 weeks usually, Next Monday is week 4, then 2 week break then enrolments. COme and join, bring your immunisation cert at 6.30 on whatever Monday I have described above (Could be 6th Oct), to enrol. You will find everyone is really friendly and welcoming Edited August 4, 2010 by joelle
Rusky
I think it will be Monday 11th October for registration for SR but we may decide to have an earlier registration night depending on the term length. Monday 11th will be the first night back for training. We have not changed the scrolling message yet for start of new term but watch the space. http://southernriverdogclub.org.au
