Clyde
About a year ago my Shih Tzu had both patellas and cruciates repaired ($$$ ) I think she may have done one again. Has anyone had this happen and if so how many times and how long ago? I'm wondering if it will be an ongoing thing.
PetaH
Our kelpie x did both cruciates within 18 months of each other from chasing the rabbits around our farm That was more than 5 years ago now (she is almost 13 yrs) and hasn't had any problems with her back legs since...apart from arthritis Very expensive problem! Clyde
Yeh, I think it's something like 75% chance that if they do one they will rupture the other. I guess I'm thankful that Gertie had them both repaired at once. I can't get back to the specialist who did her surgery for over a week so have booked her in to another good vet tomorrow to see what they say. CavsRcute
Poor Gertie Couldn' be worse timing for you. I have found a good chiropractic vet at West Ryde, if you ever need one. Get well licks from Lovely Lani

Golden Rules
I have a dog who has had both knees done within 12 months and 12 months later he did the second knee again. I have to be really careful with him and his activities, he is not allowed to jump up any more (I let him jump down) and I have to be careful where he swims and runs etc - the flatter the better. Hope it's all good news for your little one!
