I have never fed Kayne the beef variety but I do give him the chicken and he has had no side affects at all. I spoke to their ppl at the pet expo 2 years ago.

With a dog like him that has had so many reactions to meat, I'm happy with this line. He needs a bit of variety and there's not much that I can feed him.

There's no way in hell that I'd try any other tin food.

The kangaroo does not go down too well though. (neither does it in the raw form)

It's good to "wet" his kibble as he hates it dry

I saw some of the cans on the supermarket shelf yesterday and read the analysis, I suggest you do to. I just smiled and put it BACK.

If I had to read everything and take everything into consideration,my dogs would not eat - meats are contaminated with hormones, test vaccines, etc and vegies are covered in pesticides. Geez. we have to be realistic at some point. Same as with human consumption. Some families cannot afford to put meat on the table everyday for themselves, let alone their pets. IMO, a couple of tins a week is not going to kill them.

This is the analysis of their chicken, rice & vegetables.

* 70% Real Chicken (contains no red meat)

* Rice

* Vegetables

Typical Analysis (892kj per 100g)

* Protein 10.8%

* Fat Min 8%

* Crude Fibre 0.5%

* Calcium 1.3%

* Phosphorus 0.6%

* Ash 3.6%

* Moisture 68%

* Salt (occuring naturally) 0%

Not sure what is wrong with chicken, rice & veggies?

The canned food we use (optimum) has 6.0 % protein and 4.0% fat - when I chose it I was looking for the low fat and NG was one of the higher ones. Now its also protein I need to look for and it seems to keep low for that too. Canned food is added to the dry food (dry food is the bulk of diet).

errr it is 10% because it doesn't have fillers and uses fresh meat and veggies, so has a high moisture content naturally. Your raw food would have a similar moisture content unless you were are feeding meat meal?
