Katdogs
There's a new fenced (double-gated) leash-free park near Wiggs Road/Moxon Road, Riverwood/Punchbowl/Bankstown - in the Canterbury Council area. There are poo bins but no water yet, and some of the residential fencing backing onto it is a little dodgy for a determined escapee, but it's large and has trees and even an old BBQ area, and just the other side of the fence is a newer BBQ and seating. Quite close to the M5 for people coming from the south who need to stretch their dog's legs, before hitting Sydney's gridlock. Called 'Craig Street Reserve' but entry is off Kylie Parade. THANK YOU CANTERBURY COUNCIL!
kozpink
Wow very interesting..............thanks for the info. We have a council meeting tomorrow night. We are asking Penrith Council to 'fence' a off leash dog park in Penrith. Off leash dog parks are useless without a fence. We are asking for a double gate also Well done Canterburry Council, we might use this info tomorrow night.

Katdogs
I was thinking of you when I posted this Kozpink. Good luck! We're fortunate that there are a couple of Councillors (especially a long-termer, ex Deputy Mayor) who really love their dogs, and the General Manager has an animal loving (cat rescue) family. Also the local Mayor is also a State MP who likes to Open and Announce things!! There's also a bit of competition with the adjoining councils, so we're pretty well catered for in this corner. It's not the perfect dog-friendly area, but moving along...
Katdogs
bleh double post I'll use this space by asking Sezy if you're local too? I'd love to meet your dogs (and you of course!). We go to Karne Street and Gannons regularly as well! Edited July 18, 2010 by Katdogs
