luvsdogs
My friend has a 13 y/o shih tzu that recently had a paralysis. Luckily he came out of it with the anti-venom but if he gets another one may not be so lucky. She was thinking of putting him on proban tablets as she'd heard that they are the best thing to help prevent ticks. He's previously been on tick collars. She has heard that they may slow an older dog down. Who here has an older dog on proban tablets & how do they affect it? Can they be used with other preventives? Your replies will be much appreciated.
luvsdogs
No replies? Does anyone have any aged dog on Proban & how has it affected it, if at all? My friend has asked her vet what to use but would like to hear from owners with dogs using Proban or other products that work. poodlefan
Proban can be used with Advantix. Personally I think they'd probably be better off using Advantix and a regular Permoxin rinse or spray. Proban is an organophosphate - probably a bit hard on the liver for an oldie.
