Growler

I'm discovering that Miss Emmy is a growler (nothing aggressively or anything)..

She growls when she makes her dig her nest to go to sleep, she growls when she psych herself up to do something she hasn't done before, she growls when she plays, she sometimes growls in the middle of her eating (letting us know she likes her meal), then growls when she is full, she growls when she does zoomies too.

First off, is this normal?

Secondly, it's so damn cute when she does it!

She is talking - LOL.

Danny is driving me nuts at night. Growls all the time, he is half asleep and if anyone moves, he growls; if I move to pull up the blankets, he growls; and on and on and on.

I'm practising my growling to get back at him.:laugh:

Haha.. MM you are so cute!

Charlie is the whinger and Emmy is the growler!

Both of mine talk

Lili is a grumbler, she does the same as Emmy, grumbles when she's settling down, grumbles when she plays, she is also very vocal when playfighting with Mosley.

Mo however, makes a different sound, kind of like the sound Huskys make, it's a woooo-wooooo and if you do it back to him he answers

I get to the door of a night with him wooo-wooooing at me with a shoe in his mouth and his butt wagging madle....hilarious

Muddy is a massive talker and he is always growling or grumbling. His favourite thing to do is be on his back, belly up and so often he will be lying like that with a toy in his mouth, rolling around and growling and talking. He does it when he is rubbing himself on a towel after a bath or on the bed or walls after dinner.

Daina does it to psych herself up for things too. Like the first jump into a pool, she loves swimming but (just like me) the first jump in is the hardest to make so she talks to herself to get courage

Akira is a massive talker. She does the woo-woo's, she barks, she growls, and she does a funny half-growl half-howl thing. My neighbour has also heard her howl, but I've never caught her doing that - I think it's something she only does when she's upset.

Jesie my cocker is the whinger, she NEVER shuts up. Always with the wagging tail and whinging.

JoJo my beagle X is the growler. She growls at everything you just described plus she growls when Jesie burps!

Emmy does this too... she only does this when she is in the backyard and can hear the neighbours in their garages. She usually gets a 'hello Emmy' back

I have muddy paw prints on my fence from when my neighbour popped his head over the fence to say hello to Akira after she'd been talking to him through the fence. ;)

Rommi roo-roos and does a grumbly growly thing, especially when she is very happy. SHe does a bark/yip thing as well.

Lewis has only barked twice when he got very excited/frustraed and the first time he stopped dead because I think he suprised himself. The next time he did it he was very happy with himslef.

Rommi is very noisy, especially fro a Whippet. Lewis whinges when he is in a crate or I am working Rommi and he is locked up. Other than that he is very quiet.

Yep Oscar is a growler when he plays - or if he wants something and you are not giving it to him. He also is a fantastic whinger - when he is ready for bed and wants to be covered he lets you know!

Leila is a cryer. She crys when she does everything - chasing a ball around the yard, burying a bone, asking for dinner. At first we were really worried that she had separation issues then we put her outside but then realised she did it all the time. The first dog she played with was a staffy so she is a growler when she plays with other dogs.
