SchnauzerBoy
In response to others, the 50mm 1.8 is awesome on the camera I also have the 28-80 f3.3-f5.6 cheap arse 2nd hand lens which is amazing on the d80. Keeps up and is as sharp as the 24-70 f2.8 on the D700 without costing an arm and a leg. I got mine off ebay for $
huga
CONGRATS.... good to see this girl has style with a Nikon. I know for a fact Ash will be pushing you along with me to start taking this seriously as you could go far and now with a decent DSLR totally unstoppable. I love your photography.Awesome work Huga. Let me know if you want to trial the 50. I haz a brand spanking new 24-70 now after I dropped it, so you can give that a trial too if you want. Thank you You have no idea what your support means to me. BTW - we still have to visit the Ron exhibition and apparently cameras are allowed in! And I think we should make a date for an Ekka excursion too hope you enjoy the new camera, great to pick up a bargain. huga
Argh, just took a pile of photos at a christening. The church was too dark and my photos outside are all over exposed ;) It takes a bit of time to get used to a new camera I suppose.

huga
Well, that didn't last long I picked up my camera today and it turned on for a second, before the screen went a hazy shade of dark grey. Now it won't turn on at all Probably something to do with the contact points for the battery, as they have been replaced before. I hope it doesn't take long to fix/replace. Kirislin
well at least it's covered by a guarantee. I hope you have it back again soon.
huga
And now it's working again. How bizarre.
Kirislin
Just be careful with this, if it happens again you might be better off getting it checked while it's covered under warranty. With my 50mm lens it was playing up and I eventually took it back to the retailer who sent it off to canon. They couldn't find anything wrong so I asked the retailer what happens if it does it again when the warranty is over. They told me not to worry saying because it was a known fault, even though canon couldn't duplicate it under test conditions I would be covered for it. sure enough warranty ends, lens start playing up and canon tried to say they wouldn't fix it. Eventually they did but I suppose this is a long winded way of saying get any little hiccoughs ironed out before the warranty ends.
huga
Thanks Kirislin - I was thinking the same thing. In a way, I wish it had stayed dead, because now I might have trouble proving it. I'll see how it goes over the weekend.
Kirislin
maybe keep a note of the dates it does it, and how many times, but I wouldn't give it many chances, if it does it at least two more times I think if it was mine I'd be asking for it to be checked out.
