]l have a badly stained beard on my schnauzer.l have a couple of alternatives of what to use to try and address this issue although some have never worked so will try another one recommended from the US.

Does anyone know if Corn Starch is the same in Australia as Corn flour?

l do know that Johnson and Johnson baby powder or one of them has pure corm starch as indicated via a few sites but want to know if anyone knows the real truth as am not prepared of course to bleach a beard, l see no point in this at all although not uncommon in the Show World.yes they are Show dogs and l am well aware of why they have them but the water where l live has not helped this issue and in fact made it worse. Thanks in anticipation!

The best cure for staining is prevention.

Cut out any food colouring in the diet.

Switch from plastic bowels over to ceramic or steel.

Giving the hair a really good clean and condition, condition, condition. Dry porous hair picks up more staining then soft conditioned hair.

Sard Wonder Soap is a well known "cleaner" and might help.

Potato Flour and Corn Flour visually whiten the hair but doesn't actually do anything long term. I use it with other products that tone down the red/yellow.

You may also find something like Angel Eyes ( http://www.angelseyesqld.com.au/ ) might help if there is a yeast infection causing the staining.

You may find supplementing with apple cider vinegar helps too.

The only water i now that stains is bore water on dogs??

We have breed minis for over 24 yrs & the main stain issue is food/salvia .

If the water is an issue then use bottle.

Bleaching will not solve the issue at all ,it will be a quick fix but not a solution
