Kirislin
I think Flickr is much sharper than photobucket. I think photobucket reduces the size of them. Here's photobucket and flickr Hmmmm the photobucket one looks darker too.
GregW
Do you change the size before you upload or do you allow the site to resize automatically to their specs? Maybe this may have something to do with it? Greg
Kirislin
Nup, I was born without the computer knowledge gene and am a complete dummy at this stuff.
anniek
I make my pics small then upload to photobucket to post on here - that's why they all look a bit crappy (ny excuse anyway). I joined flickr, uploaded about 10 full size pics, then that was my months limit gone - so I haven't bothered with it sine then! I use redbubble for the good stuff! kja
flickr is known to have aggressive sharpening of your images. Too much a lot of the time, imho. I always resize before uploading to any site, there's no reason to upload big files and it just eats your monthly allotment. Resize and sharpen for web first then upload and your images should look pretty good, be reasonably quick to upload/download and you can put up quite a few before reaching free limits for those who are too cheap (ME!!) to spring for web storage. Bellatrix
Yes, the quality is really reduced. I have noticed this in a lot of my photos. I always resize before uploading too (unless if its on Redbubble then I upload the original size). I use GIMP to resize pics and then sharpen them and then add my fancy border ;)
Bellatrix
Kirislin, do you use GIMP? Its a free, very basic editing program which is made for those who dont have that computer gene you lack ;)
