Kirislin
Pete Hulks photographer, taken with a Canon 40d & 400mm 2.8 lens, that's like a great big papparazzi lens. naughty whippets
SeeGee
They are gorgeous Do whippets have to be muzzled? Or is that just for what they were doing that day? *blush* I dont know *scuffs feet*
Kirislin
They are gorgeous Do whippets have to be muzzled? Or is that just for what they were doing that day? *blush* I dont know *scuffs feet* A perfectly reasonable question to ask. No, they dont have to be muzzled all the time but excitement levels are pretty high when they're on the chase like this and although so far we've had no fights we need to be responsible. The dogs are usually so excited they forget they've got it on.

OSoSwift
Lovely photos I also believe from what I have seen written before, that the muzzles can help reduce the possibility of dogs basically accidentaly colliding and a tooth ripping skin due to the force of impact. Even though the dog may not be trying to bite at all. Looks like they had fun. Mine were racing through mud a few days ago and got very wet and dirty as well :D

tdierikx
Those are definitely pics I'd be proud to have taken - simply amazing action shots! It's great to see healthy and happy dogs having a ball playing in the mud and wet... *grin* T.

Kirislin
Thanks for looking guys. To those who've only seen whippets trembling on the end of a leash I think this really shows another side to them alot of people have never seen.

The muzzle is a best friend!

Whipitgood
FANTASTIC!! Doing what Whippies should be doing! I so wish they did Whippet sports here in WA. Having said that. my guys are so prone to injuring themselves in full flight, i would have to wrap them up in bubble wrap first!!
OSoSwift
Amazing pics - nothing like a Whippet in full flight Totally agree. We were watching ours hooning in the front paddock and it is awesome, Rommi did about a 5 metre jump at full flight - awesome! When the dogs start up, all of us stop to watch
