Feedback About Nutro Naural

Hi, I bought my first bag of this today, I was hoping to hear from some of you that have tried it before. Did your dog do well on it? Or not, if so why? Thanks in advance

I feed it to my dogs and love the brand, it's been the only food that has kept weight on my boy.

Wow, that is great your dogs are doing so well, I hope my boy does just as good. I got it at a great price today, buy one 3kg bag get one free. So I bought 2 lots (12kg) at that price I thought if he didn't like it, I could take it back.

Do you mind me asking how his stools are one it? I have read they are smaller and firmer, he is currently feed a full raw diet, and his poos are firm, not much smell to them and small, and I'm hoping if I feed him both the raw and the Nutro ( nutro for brekky and raw for dinner), that this might stay the same.

Once again, so glad to hear your dogs are doing really well on Nutro, it's always good to hear

Definatly smaller and firmer and I have pretty big dogs so its a great help

I have since moved to the Lamb and Rice one simply because they like the taste a little more and they are older now

But both are great though.

I was feeding Trixie Advance to begin with (she was weaned onto it by her breeder, she did ok on it but not great, wasn't gaining enough weight) so I changed her over to Eagle Pack Holistic because I preferred it for Kyzer and felt it was a better food, but ended up quite unhappy with it, she wasn't keeping weight on at all despite eating bucket loads of the stuff (went through a 15kg bag of it with 2 very small dogs surprisingly fast! ) she looked like skin and bones and it all came out the other end just as quickly.

So I changed her to Nutro Puppy Chicken and Rice and I have been really happy with it, she looks healthier and shinier and is keeping weight on a lot better than on other foods. She's been on it for quite a while now (she's nearly 1 - probably been using it for about 6 months). Sometimes I use the Adult lamb & rice too. Stools have always been good on this food from both of my dogs (unlike with the Eagle Pack).

Going by the ingredients list EPH looked a lot better to me than Nutro, but the results are a lot different and were quite surprising to me.

So thumbs up to Nutro for me. My dogs are predominantly raw fed now but I still give them the occasional meal of Nutro and it's their back up food.

Thank you so much. I'm really glad I have choosen this one. I have been tossing up between the EPH, Canidae, Artemis and the Nutro for a few days now. Comparing prices, ingredients lists, nutritional analysis and like you I thought the others looked better in writing, but I really wanted to go with an australian made product, and when I saw the Nutro for buy one get one free today, it made my decision for me. I'm really glad to hear others dogs are doing really really well on it. Thanks heaps and I hope your dogs continue to thrive

I was feeding Willow this, changed to EPH because I thought it was the better food. Willow does not like the taste of EPH much at all, it's a struggle to get her to eat a complete meal of it. She absolutely loves Nutro though, goes down without a problem. I haven't had any issues with Nutro, so will change her back to it once she finishes the current bag of Eagle Pack.

We have had Leila on the adult lamb variety for nearly 6 months and are very happy. Nice coat, firm stools, she goes nuts for it and she doesnt fart anymore! Advance didnt work for her and she smelt bad!

She get all sorts of other stuff like chicken wings, chicken carcasses, RMBs and occasionally sardines for variety but would be happy feeding her only on the kibble.

I am currently using the adult lamb and rice formula and I'm happy with how my dog is doing on it. I started her off on EPH puppy then after 18mths went to Advance then thought I'd give Nutro a go. I haven't seen any difference in her coat, weight (although she now just needs to maintain, if not take of a tiny bit ) and stools so I might as well stick with Nutro as it is cheaper than EPH.

We feed our dogs 2/3rd home made and 1/3 Nutro, either Chicken and Rice or Lamb and Rice. We have a bitch with a litter of puppies and she is on Puppy Chicken and Rice. We will wean our pups onto Nutro.

Well, I tried it and it seems its not for my little boy. He started to get a red rash on his tummy, and I showed our vet today while we were there getting his 16 week shot. And she said to eliminate all Chix from his diet and to feed a kibble based of fish.

So, I took back the Nutro as it was Chix and Rice, and got the EP Holistic Select Anchovy, Sardine and Salmon one. Hopefully he does better on this one. He loves the taste, but will see how the rash is over the next few days.

I would have really have like to feed him an australian made product, but I guess what is best for him is the most important thing.

On further investigation Nutro does have a large breed kibble, so Im wondering if that rep knows something he isnt supposed to tell

Ummm that's interesting, either that or he made a big boo boo

I'm curious, was it the Lamb and Rice formula he recommened for your JRT? I asked my vet about this one, and she said it would be better but it still has some chix in it so probably best to avoid for my boy. How long has your JRT been on the Nutro? Have you found it is good? I hope it has been good for him. If the EP does no good, I'm not sure which kibble I'll try.

I'm thinking once my Raw runs out, I might start using the Nutro Lamb canned food to add to his kibble some days, and eggs, sardines the others, just to give him some variety. I would love to be able to keep him on Raw, but I caught my 3 year old boy (human boy that is ) playing with his food bowl. I know nothing was in it, but I just couldn't risk either of my children getting sick. So I guess Raw isn't for every dog either.

If the dog's bowl is removed and washed once the dog has finished eating why would it matter if your child touches it - personally I would put it away as it is not a toy but I still don't get the problem?

Thanks for your input, though I'm not sure if you were giving advice about what how to feed a raw diet, or criticising my parenting skills. :)

Of course cleaing his bowl is what I aim to do, but sometimes I don't get to it in time, that's just the way it is. I don't have time to sit and watch him eat, then pounce when he has finished. That's why I think Raw might not be the best option for my family, not just my dog, I'm not willing to risk my childs health. So that is the problem.
