claireybell
OH and I are getting married next year and will be going on a honeymoon! We plan to go away for 6 days and we both feel uncomfortable leaving the dogs at kennels. I would prefer for someone to stay with them at their own home where they are inside as this is what they are used too. Failing that i would like them to stay at someone else's home, inside. I found this website and I am wondering if anyone has used them or heard about them? i'm looking for any opinions you may have please. Thanks http://www.melbourne-petminders.com.au/index.html

Spitzbabe
A few months ago I was sat in the local clinic and there was a lady with a child they were both in tears it turned out that they had used a pet sitter in Narre Warren from Melbourne Pet Minder and had come home to find her pregnant she said because of her age she had to have an emergency c section and it was touch and go. I often wonder how that lady was doing, if you are a member on here please let me know if your little girl pulled through.
Cosmolo
Gosh thats no good spitzbabe- poor dog and owner. We have two pet minders now and i think minding can be a great boarding kennel alternative. But, like anything, it pays to do your research, meet the minder, check fencing etc beforehand.
Genabee
When ever we have gone away, we have sourced a house sitter. There are a few websites... if you google house sitters they come up. Basically it won't cost you anything, as the people stay in your home, you can ask them to do chores etc. But they look after your home and pets! There are usually lists of who is available where and when, and you can pick... or make contact and chat. They have police clearances and often they are travelers seeking cheap accommodation. The last couple we used were here on holiday from the States, approx. 50 years of age, lovely people.

They are the perfect couple for us as they will be home during the day and evening giving our pup the care and company he needs.
Spitzbabe
What a great idea, do they have a limit to how many pets they care for.
