poodlefan
this may enlighten you It also contains the answer to your question. Use canine dye. Human hair dye is pretty strong stuff.
pinkpuppy
yes i saw that "Human hair dyes shouldn't be used because of the acids/chemicals. " but that was written back in 2007 thought things may have changed, i mean we use it on our own hair. Wondering if anyone has used it with no bad side effects and which brand Edited June 16, 2010 by pinkpuppy

Humans also know not to rub hair dye with our hands and then rub our faces or to lick it. Stick to the safe stuff.
pinkpuppy
maybe i should get the one that says "test on animals"...so then i'll know its safe ......joking
DaisyDog
My girl loves having her tail tip dyed. She sits still the entire time the 'dye' (food colour usually) is setting and shows off to everyone once it's done!
t-time
You're better off using a temporary one (like Glintz or similar) rather than a human permanent dye but I would imagine whatever has to be done is a temporary situation anyway? :D You can get proper doggy dye as well though I wouldn't know where to start! Flye
I've heard of people using regular food colouring - just dilute it and then brush it through their fur. Given that it's FOOD colouring I can't imagine it doing any harm.
flyingduster
food colouring is great, but you certainly won't get black from food colouring (yes, I know you can get black food colouring, but it doens't make fur black!)
