iltby
And once again, would love your feedback Just an idea I've had for a while...finally put it into action the other night.
persephone
Hmmm... different is right I prefer the second one - like the softness Hope the camera didn't have a bath too!
VJB
Definitely different, but in a nice way. I too, prefer the second. The first makes me think of a horror movie,,,, I think because it's got darkness near the curtain. Even though the second one is more "misty", "soft", it's not spooky as such. Interesting. You just need Rugerfly's Yoda sitting on the edge. He's in several photo's in another thread.
Kirislin
I think the movie Psycho made bathrooms spooky. I too prefer the second purely for that reason. I wish I could stretch my legs out in my bath, I've got one of those piddling little short ones where you have a choice of either freezing your knees or your torso. I'd love one where I could stay submerged with just my head above water.
persephone
Oh, No! I saw that shower curtain move!!
kja
I love that you're experimenting! I like the processing on both because they show how much a photo can change by the way we present it. Well done! Which vision was closer to your original thought? And then how did you evolve to the other version?
iltby
Thanks very much guys I was actually going for a horror/ominous sort of look so the first is probably my favourite. I found that the cyan tinge I gave it made it very eerie. They're actually two different photos, though I realise how similar they look now I achieved that misty look on the second one by blowing on the lens. I think the second photo is actually closer to my original vision - I wanted something with lots of fog and little colour. But after experimenting, as I said, I think I prefer the first. They both have very different moods, though. Edited June 14, 2010 by iltbyâ„¢
rocco
I love these and think they are really cool. Love the processing on the second. My only criticism would be the bath wash thing (I cant think for the life of me what you call those things. ) I would prefer it wasn't there as it draws my attention to the top. You could try some texture too to add more mood perhaps. But good stuff.
Guest Tess32
I like the first, but don't get the second at all. The processing of the first suits the content of the image - a little creepy, ambiguous and gritty. The second is just too 'pink' and looks too much like "Hitchcock meets 1800 girls" for me
rocco
The second is just too 'pink' and looks too much like "Hitchcock meets 1800 girls" for me :D Thats what great about it. You have a sense of mystery, it draws you in to a dream state of floating. If the doily thing is removed - cloned out I really think this would take on a new lease of life. Maybe touch less saturation and slight texture. :D But both images are really great ILTBY. Keep it up.
iltby
Thanks again for the feedback guys I kinda liked the loufa being there because it adds another shadow but I agree that it's a bit distracting. The second one was meant to be a bit dreamy and floaty as Serena said, while the first is more eerie. Think I will try playing around with textures and see how I go though. Someone else suggested the same The second is actually less processed
TerraNik
I prefer the first... But that's probably coz that's what I'm into at the moment Nice work!!
Clicking Mad
I love the different idea I like the fog and slightly different angle of the 2nd, but maybe with the grittier colour of the 1st?

Zombie Bait
I still prefer the first one. It feels quite dark and suicedy (i know, not a word ) and i really like it. Second one Im not as fond of, but i still like the effect. Good work iltby!
iltby
Thanks again guys I think I'll play around with them again and see what I come up with...maybe reverse the editing and try some textures.
