Kitty Litter

Katie has developed a fettish for kitty litter.

Now, my other dogs do like to eat the cat poo out of the litter if they beat us to it(we are very fast to remove this usually) but Katie has taken to just eating mouthfuls of the litter even when completely clean.

this concerns me as I use the litter beads and they have all kinds of lovely chemicals in them.

I scold her when I catch her in the act, but I am having real trouble breaking the cycle.

Can anyone help.

Oh, it's a domed litter laready with only a small opening, but I can't put the swinging door on it as my old cat won't use the litter with this on.

I have laso looked for a high place to put the litter but can't fins anything suitable.(unless it goes on the kitchen dining table or kitchen bench YUCK)

Although in desparation I may resort to this.

put the tray/s in another room and use some sort of gate which allows the cat to get thru but not the dog?

Use a baby/puppy gate to put around them. the cats should be able to slip thru the bars or at leats jump over.

Or put Katie outside/ in a crate or playpen when you can't watch her every move!

I've re-organised the laundry cupboard which was no small task.

But have managed to place the litter tray on the first shelf.

I'm going to see how this goes.

I've showed the cats where it is, so I am hoping they will be smart enough to go in there.

Katie can't reach at the moment but when she gets bigger she might.

We'll see how this plan goes for now, as my other 2 dogs also like to eat cat poo and it's gross.
