Anyone Know What This Is On My Dogs Nose?

Ive noticed these spots on Tess's nose, Im not sure if they have grown at all but I have no idea if it is anything to worry about

Winter nose? Some breeds can lose pigment somewhat on their noses over winter.

She has never had it before, she is an 8yo JRT, can winter nose just develop like that? I thought it would affect them from the time they were young

I would say it's just a little depigmentation from a scratch or sticking her nose through wire or similar :D Hard to know whether it will go black again but you might be surprised

Thanks, good to know its probably nothing, Ill still keep an eye on it anyway, it wouldnt surprise me if she did get some sort of trauma to it...she is always sticking her head in places she shouldnt lol, typical JRT

I agree with T-Time, I would same that somebody has been sticking their nose in things....lol.

We get it with our dogs at times. Winter nose or snow nose is a line in the middle of the dogs nose that is lighter than the rest of it, called so because you usually see it in the cooler months. But some dogs have it permanently. Some may never get it, some only show it when older and some it is from a young age. I am of course referring only to my breed.

doesn't look nasty to me (ECC Vet Nurse) in the picture provided.

If it's not bothering her and not ulcerating then just keep an eye on it.

Note: Just my opinion.

Ok, thanks guys, Ill definitely keep an eye on it but its good to know that its probably just pigmentation and not something serious
