They are full of nutrition and in the wild a bitch would not leave the den for a few days to get food so this would be her only food source during those early days. Perfectly natural and healthy. I don't have to worry too much about them not eating in the first 24 hours or so when they are too busy or tired to eat anything else if they have eaten the placentas.
