MsKatie
My old ACD X used to - she'd hear it before we did - and we lived on a main road and there were lots of sirens
ozmalinois
We have Belgians, they LOVE to howl!!! Lucky we are on large acreage. They've taught the Silky's to howl as well, sounds so cute
saradale
My oldest Border Collie boy does, but only at Ambos... the other sirens don't seem to bother him. Unfortunately he is teaching the younger dogs to join the choir. We live right on a main road, so this is a very regular occurance. But not for long!!! Move to 23 acres of peace and tranquility! 4 Paws
my foxie does occasionally. He also can start up when the neighbours chooks start cackling or my daughter starts trying to play a tune on the recorder, have to agree with him on that one Edited May 30, 2010 by 4 Paws
greytdog
Mum's late GSD did it, but he used to start before the siren. I don't know if it was because he could hear it start up before it came into our hearing.
skip
I used to live near the hospital in a country town. When I moved my neighbours told me they would miss me but more sorry to see my dogs go. They said it amused them immensely when the dogs howled at the ambos. I have since heard my chi x howl at Mr Whippy and it is so funny. Hard to describe but makes me laugh. W Sibs
Emmy does. Her howls are so cute, because it's not quite a howl just yet.. just a cute 'woo woo woo' kind of sound. She needs to work on it. Charlie is oblivious to it.
wagsalot
Riley's never howled at sirens, but the dog that used to be next door to my work did all the time. I work just down from a hospital too, so there was always sirens going past.
fiveplusone
nope, but he is a squeaky toy howler!
Kayne's Mum
my daughter's malamute does. She even howls in her sleep if there's an ambulance in the area. We don't mind during the day but at night, it sounds VERY loud
Casima
I used to live within a few blocks of the hospital, police station and fire station... my GSD would howl at all the siren's, I love his howl! My others never howl but Mum's Corgi sometimes does except he has to do a few very terrible high pitched barks first which spoils it!
