Lens Advice

I have an opportunity to photograph the SA Police Dog Squad soon, and would like some advice on what lenses to use.

I currently have a 550D with the following lenses:

Canon 50mm 1.4

Canon 60mm macro

Tamron 18-250mm

Which would be the best to use? What other one's do people recommend?

I have a little cash still to splash on another lens if need be.

oooh! that sounds fun! How did you score that?

I personally would use the 50mm. Depends what kind of shots you need? close up? action shots? Id definitely go the zoom for the action ones.

I have a friend who is good friends with some of the dog squad members.

Not sure what I'm doing yet exactly, probably a bit of both close up and action shots.

do you really think i'd be able to resist showing off the beautiful dogs of the SA police force [which one day I hope to be a handler of one] to a bunch of crazy dog people? :rolleyes:

CLearly the Tamron - a wide angle lens would not give you the options the 18-250mm would.

Just remember try not to go below 50mm with close ups or you will get big head short legs issue

would look into hiring a good lens maybe - 70-200L?
