Recommended Posts

My 8 month old goldie has just started eating some lamb necks. She regulary gets chicken carcass, but I wanted to get something bigger for her to start to chew more, she is a chewer

No last week she vomited in the night, this was after having had some lamb necks in the daytime. This week no bones all week until today, she had 2 lamb neck pieces in the morning and then vomited at 4.00.

I dont know if it is a conicidence or not? can bones make dogs vomit?

She was at the vet today to check her anal glands re a earlier post about her smelling metallic and licking herself LOTS and chasing her tail LOTS. Vet said all appeared well, no temp, anal glands didnt look swollen, but he expressed them and the smell seemed to same when he brough her back

Anyway, she could have eaten anything and everything , she is typcial goldie and we find all sorts of stuff she shouldnt eat in her mouth, but just wondering about the bones?

They definitely can cause vomiting. I too have learned the hard way. If my dogs can get a chunk of bone off easily they will swallow it so thats why I had to stop any soft bones like brisket. They are better having things they have to chew like lanb flaps, turkey necks etc. They do get chicken necks often but I make sure they are largish. I have had the pleasure of the night time hurling on the bed and even on my OH head
