Cosmolo
Having just found out that the best pet friendly holiday place we have stayed at has been sold, i am after a pet friendly place to stay. Needs to be no more than 2-3 hours drive from Melbourne. We need a place that- Will allow 5 dogs- 4 big, 1 small. Need to be allowed inside Has some nice walking trails nearby- driving distance away is fine but i think this rules out the Grampians as dogs aren't allowed in the park area at all. Isn't insanely expensive I know its a big ask and if there is nothing like that around we will go and stay at Best Friend but we'd love to try somewhere different! PAX
Camp Tailwaggers would be perfect but a bit more than 2-3 hours. Have you checked the Vic journal?, sometimes stuff like this is advertised in the Dogs NSW journal.
alpha bet
I know the problem Cosmolo, We got sick of going on holidays and leaving the four legged family at home. So we actually decided to save money on holidays and buy ourselves a place where the dogs can go with us. We thought we might make this house available to rent for others to use for holidays. Its not really ready yet to rent out as we are planning on some renovations to make it a little nicer as it is currently pretty ordinary 60's look right down to the shagpile burnt orange carpet. Also plan on putting in a secure dog pen for when we go out. It is in Bonnie Doon - lots of dog friendly areas - near Mansfield and the snow fields. Although not ready for this year then perhaps it would suit you for the future.
newfsie
This might suit........... http://www.seascapestleonards.com.au/ It has been a little while since we went there........... And this one............ http://www.moonlightretreat.com/ We have just renovated a caravan, sothat we can take ours everywhere. it is a lot cheaper and I am planning on going to some more training work-shops away from home and shows/obedience events

AussieDog
We stayed at Muxy's Place (along Great Ocean Road) and loved it!! They have a huge property BUT it isn't fully fenced. It wasn't a problem for our pooches but may be an important factor for you. They are near a dog friendly beach but unless you want your dogs washed out to Tasmania i wouldn't let them loose without a long lead or something. I have since been informed this beach is loved by surfers as has some of the biggest waves in vic. It was very rough. http://www.muxys-place.com.au/
