Metallic Smell?

Our goldie vomited a week ago durning the night, the next morning all appeared well. I think (or thought) at the time she probably swallowed something she shouldnt have)

She smelled terribly metallic afterwards for a few days, we put it down to the vomit and gave her a good bath.

it seemed to get better, but she is slowly starting to smell metallic again. It could possibly be comming from her saliva when she licks her fur and then the fur has a metallic smell about it.

She has also been chasing her tail like crazy and licking her bits a lot. She is desexed, has been wormed just under a month ago, due next week.

Not sure if the last bits are related, but they have cropped up recently.

I do have a sensitive nose, so not sure what is going on, can metallic smell be related to anything? Dont wont to rush off to a vet and be told it is nothing iywkim

Just posted a similar topic but with your dog it does sound like anal glands needing to be expressed.

That always smells metalic to me.

I would also suggest you see a vet re her anal glands..

well not something I would have guessed, I am new to the wonderful world of dog ownership. She is only 8 months old, so would that still be the case? Hmm, have to read up about this.

I vote anal glands too - she may have an infection, or they may be full and she's licking them a lot, thus her stinky breath too
