:ange:
I'm over spending $$$ on dog beds that go either flat or lumpy after a short while so I'm looking for suggestions of what dog beds you have that has stayed pretty and plump after more than a couple of months! Do you DIY? I've heard people getting filling stuff from clarkes rubber but the closest one is about 2 hours away. What can I use to fill beds? TIA!! lovemesideways
One thing we did was buy a bean bag and put around half the suggested amount of beans in it. We've had one for 2 years now and its still going strong! Buy a few single bed sheets and cover the beanbag. Then swap when they get smelly! Miz J
Have had a couple of T&S beds now for a year. Cover comes off and they are washable. Have had no problems with the filling, they are aired with the cover off one a week and I vacuum them when the cover is off for washing. What is even more amazing is that they are intact. We had a very bad bean bag experience!!!
Golden Rules
Snooza beds are good. There's different thicknesses, and they aren't loose filled so don't go flat or lumpy.
Gretel
Yes I've had bad bean bag experiences too. And for some reason a lot of dogs I've had think they are great to wee in

I have 4 different styles of Snooza's and all have gone flat over time...I think that's pretty standard.
SwaY
I don't like snooza beds. Hard to wash, hair sticks to the,, you have to leave them unzipped a little to let the air out. And yet they go flat pretty quick.
Golden Rules
OK, so don't buy a snooza bed then! But mine has been great with a 32 kilo dog using it for almost 2 years now. That's money well spent.
WreckitWhippet
Ange , we've got one's at work that are a cube and are covered in a ripstop. They are awesome, next time you are in Bathurst come and see is at Fish & Sons. The hair won't stick and the dogs are happy to curl up in the with a blanket
poodlefan
The longest lasting one I have is a Snooza Wool Futon. I just buy replacement pads for the Choozy soft baskets my dogs like. They wash OK but do go lumpy over time.
:ange:
Yeah I wasn't keen on the idea of having bean bags because of the bad experiences of others.. and with a 10 month old chewy puppy I'd rather steer clear!! I've had 3 different types of snooza beds and they have all lost their shape and gone flat after a short period of time.. With my dogs being around the 30kg mark I'm really after something that is going to keep it's shape as I'm finding once they go flat the dogs seem to avoid them and use the couch/our bed more! How about a couple of trampoline beds with a futon on top?

Meea
I think the Rogz beds are the best I have ever owned. The deerhounds can't tear them and I am still using the one I first bought about 3 1/2 yrs ago. They do flatten a bit over time but they are still the best I have every had. I buy the flat ones as the podz are super exxy!
Red Fox
Single bed foam mattress cut to what-ever size you want and make a cover for it?? You could easily get 2 or 3 beds from one mattress depending on the size of your dogs. A good foam mattress is around $100 so that's $30-$50 per bed
Red Fox
Childs cot mattress. These are a good idea too The good things is that you can buy the mattress protectors and sheets made to fit so make it extra easy

(At a guess from what I've seen in Big W) Innerspring are around the $150-$200 mark but they would last a long time. Foam are around $80-$150. These are new prices so if you could pick up a second hand one they would be pretty cheap.
