I've just been reading this post, it sounds to me like someone trying to take the p*ss, they joined up yesterday, created a thread on rehoming a dog and bought it from a petshop. From what I've seen on here those are both big no-nos to DOLers. Just my observation.

You've only been a member of DOL yourself for a month!

And whilst yes it is frowned upon buying a dog (or any animal) from a pet shop doesnt make the request BS! It very well could be but again who are we to judge unless we have eveidence as backup!

It could be that the OP'er has been reading DOL for a while or that they have never read it.

At the end of the day coming onto DOL and ask for advice is so much better than just dumping it at the pound or just dumping it full stop.

First thing to do is contact your breeder.

Second thing to do is contact JRT Rescue which you've done. I haven't read the whole thread - JRTs are a special breed, they are not for everyone. I just adopted a very typical JRT type - she's a cross, probably bought in a petshop and dumped. I didn't particularly want a JRT type, I've fostered a few over the years and would rather have something easier now!

Still, they are terrific little dogs in the right situation but best placed by someone who knows about the breed.

If you do decide to go it alone, your dog should be desexed first (if not already), ALWAYS do a home check - ask where the dog will sleep, how much exercise etc (JRTs need a lot) and ask for a reference from their vet.

Taking him with us is the first option we considered, but after discuss with our home owner in that country, there are too much inconvinence related.

what kind of inconvenience?

which country are you relocating to?

So we prefer to find a new home here.

But what I confused is that if we can not find it finally, is there any facility could solve this problem.

no there aren't any facilites who will rehome your dog for you, in the way that you imagine.

How many years have you been in Aust?

I got the response from JRT rescue, I am proceeding as they suggested. Seems that some light are turning out from the horizon.

She can't contact the breeders, as she mentioned she bought him from a petshop.

hshen - Ask someone in rescue if they can place him on Petrescue for you for free, then you make a donation to that rescue group.

Your job now is to sell your dog, talk him up, eg he is house trained, doesn't bark, went to puppy school, does obedience, walks well on the lead, is dog and cat friendly. Would make someone a fantastic pet, due to reasons beyond our control we are unable to keep him.... yadadadada

Very glad that you have found a solution that you are happy with. I hope Raphael really enjoys his new home and new family.

HOpefully you will be able to visit him and get updates on how he is doing if he is with your family friend - that way you may not miss him as much.

Great effort.Sometimes life just happens and as much as I love my dogs, things can happen.

As for pointing out someone only being a member for a month.I have actually been coming on here myself for 7 years but half of that, not a member just lurking, (sounds creepy doesn't it) and untill this year under another name, (not creepy, just forgot password).Best not to make assumptions on people or events.
