~Anne~
Is he desexed? If he isn't then I would only offer him to someone after you have him in for desexing. You can re-home him for the cost of desexing him.

ncarter
Sit back and put yourself in this person's shoes. How do you not know that they are not military and are posted out of Australia for 2 years, and due to living and working on a base you can not have any types of pets. Oversea's posting onto a airforce base you are NOT allowed pets for the runway safety, exactly what happened to someones 2 dogs this week.It is that time of year that postings are coming out and people are given 1-6 months notice to sell up everything including homes and cars and find homes for animals. yes but you wouldnt get a dog if you were in that situation would you? ncarter
the OP hasnt even mentioned her husband being in the armed forces.
Jsk
the OP hasnt even mentioned her husband being in the armed forces. Just because the OP hasnt mentioned it, doesnt mean its not the case doesnt mean it is but it comes down to not everyone has to tell DOLers every thing. Just because the OP hasnt mentioned it, doesnt mean its not the case doesnt mean it is but it comes down to not everyone has to tell DOLers every thing. this is true. i prefer not to make assumptions and was just giving a few of the top of my head scenerios where this could be an unplanned event, given some people were going down the path of it being a foreseeable (and therfore a preventable) event. ncarter
if could have been a foreseeable event who knows. I dont like the OP coming on here and saying if "anyone" can take him that would be good. It devalues the dog.
Aziah
No one said everyone who comes here has to tell all to DOL but they'll get answers according to what people see (or don't) between the lines. JSK - you're not yourself lately, what's going on? (and that's a genuine question from a concerned me)
Erny
You can re-home him for the cost of desexing him. But I think a healthy 'donation' for the privilege of knowing your dog will go to a home, if you can afford it, would be a welcome bonus to those who do and can help out in these situations . furballs
I've just been reading this post, it sounds to me like someone trying to take the p*ss, they joined up yesterday, created a thread on rehoming a dog and bought it from a petshop. From what I've seen on here those are both big no-nos to DOLers. Just my observation.

From what I've seen on here those are both big no-nos to DOLers. Just my observation. You've only been a member of DOL yourself for a month! And whilst yes it is frowned upon buying a dog (or any animal) from a pet shop doesnt make the request BS! It very well could be but again who are we to judge unless we have eveidence as backup! It could be that the OP'er has been reading DOL for a while or that they have never read it. At the end of the day coming onto DOL and ask for advice is so much better than just dumping it at the pound or just dumping it full stop. To the OPer contact some of those links that Jaxx's buddy posted. Good job Jaxx's buddy. Aziah I'll pm you so as not to derail thread.
hshen
I PMed JRT rescue but no answers yet. Yes it is my bad to put this on so late, that really devalue my dog, and this makes me feel bad, when I take a look at my dog, I feel guilty. I think I just tried to escape from facing this tough situation before and I believe that will be easy to find a new home for this lovely boy, I just want to stay with him a little bit longer. Actually, this forum is not the first resource I tried, but anyway, I think I do it too late. My bad. What I can do now is to post a paper in community's shopping center, see what will happen.
