GardenofEden
I have taken in a dog that I believe to be of irish wolfhound origins and although I have tried to google the breed I am still a little uncertain as to whether she is purebred or not. Oh poops, I just remembered that I haven't taken any photos yet, I will do so later and post them here and hopefully I will finally know for sure. She is so clever and obedient, love her dearly. She is black & white.

GardenofEden
Looks Border Collie-ish Heinz?Wolfie dash variety to me. How tall is she? Can't see any border collie except for the colouring but I do admit in not having any direct experience with IW. I am not sure of her height, never measured her but would guess that she may be between 18-20" tall, maybe? What do you mean by Wolfie dash? GardenofEden
No black and white, but can't wait to see pics, I used to have and show wolfies, marvellous dogs So I guess that determines that Chelsea is not a purebred. I agree that they are marvelous dogs and even though she isnt a purebred she really has the most beautiful temperament. She is clever and obedient too. She got out once as the skip man literally lifted the main gates to the property (the gates were padlocked). I came home about 3 hours later only to discover that Chelsea was gone. I was soooo damn lucky that my prized arab stallion didn't get out. I was very upset and went driving all around the area in the hope that I could spot her but no such luck so I rang the local ranger just in case. I gave such a sigh of relief when she finally came home of her own accord, I was just so proud of her. She is a rescue; I have had her now for 12 mths. My partner wants me to find her a home and I am loathe to part with her. I will be taking my time as she deserves the very best. I thought I would add that she was passed onto neighbours of mine (dont know where she was from originally). I believe she was FTGH. My neighbours kept her for a short period of time and then wanted to discard her and I took her on as I was afraid she would have ended up being shot. Greytmate
Her face doesn't look very houndy. It would be helpful to see a profile shot of her whole body to see whether she might have some hound in her. Some greyhound and staghound crosses will also give you a wolfie looking dog, with no wolfhound at all. How big is the dog? Purebred wolfhounds are huge, very tall. She sounds a little small for a wolfie, the standard asks for Bitches 71 cms (28 ins)

GardenofEden
I've seen plenty of Lab cross Poodles look like that. Ditto. Well, I have just googled Lab x poodles and they don't quite look like Chelsea. Seems that the lab x poodles have a slightly more profuse coat. I can't imagine a lab x poodle turning out black and white either but then I am no geneticist.

Some I would have sworn were Deerhound or Wolfhound crosses and they were most certainly Lab cross Poodles. The owners were a little surprised that they grew up to look like large hairy hounds.
