Alyosha
Can anyone tell me whether there is any camping nice and close to Durack grounds in QLD? I'm trying to sort a way to get to my National and camping looks like one of the best ways of cutting costs... Any thoughts? I hear that you can't camp at the actual grounds which is a bit of a blow. That would've made life nice and easy.
pixie_meg
i don't know if they allow dogs but heres 2 near the show grounds. Oxley Pines Caravan Park 07 33754465 Boundary Road DURACK QLD, 4077 Durack Gardens Caravan Park 07 33727300 758 Blunder Road DURACK QLD, 4077 I'd invite you to my place but we're 2 hours away and not sure whether our 4 ft fences would suffice. Sandra777
No you can't camp at Durack, but if you set up a nice camp area for your day during the show and accidentally fall asleep no one will come and make you leave.

I wondered if you'd weaken . I've been thinking of flying up just for the day (sans dogs) but it seems a bit excessive.

Alyosha
Falling asleep could be a good option by the sound of it... And yep Diva, am weakening... But the car has decided it needs a new and expensive part right now so the odds may be stacking up against us getting there! I actually looked at flying up, even me plus one dog as excess baggage is probably around the same amount as petrol. But then having no transport between airport and showground etc becomes a pain in the butt. And thanks PixieMeg - will have a look at them. If I get up there I'll let you know, would love to catch up! BTW - four foot fences are what keep them in at home!
