PebsnMe
I have had three snakes in the yard in the last week!! but then I live in Far North Queensland, so weather not so cold as down south, so we get them all year round pretty much..
Erny
Some areas of Victoria experienced a bit of an "Indian Summer" over the April period. Wonder if that's confused nature a bit? Took me a while to realise that the black in your photo was actually the shadow, so to me it looked like a bit of black ribbon and I wondered if you were fixing some sort of hoax. I love nature and am often in awe of it. The 'baby Tiger' resting in the tree trunk - its colours blended in so well with the colouring of the tree trunk. I could well imagine that if you didn't know it was there, your eyes could so easily pass over without recognising its presence. Nature is so clever. What district was the snake, Wolfgirl? Erny respects snakes and likes and admires them as part of the wonder of nature .............. but shivers at the thought of coming across them all the same. No hoax Erny the way it slithered definitely wasn't a ribbon ;) it would have been a better picture had I been able to get closer but I was quite a few steps from the snake and stretching my hand as far as it would go because it was very narky Actually now that you mention it maybe it was that really hot spell that have confused the snakes and they have rebred again because this one was not far off from being born, now that you have jogged my memory that might explain it so I am going to be extra careful now out walking cause from what I have read they usually have about 20 - 80 eggs This was in Hoppers Crossing just past the hospital near the University along from the highway
ninahartland
I always take a big stick with me when I walk up the back paddocks with the dogs. Have no idea what I'd do with it though if I ever saw one, just makes me 'feel' safer
