Thanks for posting this Julie.

Thanks to the RSPCA for a job very well done. It seems they took very good care of the animals and cooperated fully with those who are now caring for the dogs.

I'm a big believer in giving credit where credit is due and as such Id like to commend the RSPCA for the role they played with Jed's animals.

They picked them up and took them to safety and bathed and cared for them until we could get in later in the day to take them home.

They were kind and courteous and allowed the pickup to go without a hitch.

I will be sending them a Thank you note and felt we needed to acknowledge what they did and the way they did it.

well done Julie for posting! i have seen some negative posts about RSPCA in the News thread and didnt really think it was nice. I think Jed would be really happy they were there at that moment for her dogs.

You said it a damned sight more politely than I, and what I thought at the time. Totally inappropriate and quite disgusting.

Steve thank you for this post. I for one was quite shocked at the anti-RSPCA comments earlier, the wilful mis-interpretation of process and the total lack of acknowledgement that they were there, right there, when they were needed doing a fabulous job in harrowing circumstances. And to criticise a fellow for smiling with two that were safe was quite off. I grieve for those that were lost, but rejoice for those saved.

To be fair to some of the anti RSPCA posters at the beginning, some of us have been involved when the RSPCA has gone in and NOT done the correct thing.

I will admitt that my first concern when I had heard the RSPCA had collected the dogs, was how do we get them off the RSPCA and protect them from the RSPCA putting them down without cause.

I have been delighted to hear that it all has worked out and the RSPCA has done a great job this time. And pats on the back to them for helping Jeds babies.

I agree that there are many good people in the RSPCA but it does not appear to self correct when things go wrong.

I have always judged an organisation on how they make amends for their mistakes as we all make them.

None of us are perfect.

Well done to all the RSPCA workers on the ground, who do what they can with the resources they have!! It was excellent of them to be there so quickly to get the survivors to safety, and then excellent of them to allow them to go with family and friends without kicking up a stink :D

QFRS, QPS and the Ambos also do a thankless task, they deserve many pats on the back for the efforts!

The thing is the RSPCA is not the one person or even the one center. There are probably dicks working for them but I am sure there are heaps of good people too. To bundle them all in together isn't really fair. I know good dog people that work for them . I am sure most people start working for them because they want to help animals.

I am also sure that not everyone that works there are 100% behind some of the head honchos decisions or views. I don't agree with everything my boss says!

And on this occasion, the RSPCA has done the right thing and helped a wonderful member of DOl who has had a tragic thing happen to her.
