We are all waiting hopefully for good news on the recovery front for Jed but the event that brought us here and united us all in our vigil is not forgotten, nor the little souls lost that night.

Off to light another candle...

Amen.

I keep asking myself why I cannot stay away from this thread, why I keep thinking about Jed, why it matters to me.

I don't know Jed/Jane, I don't breed or show dogs, my dogs are not her beloved breeds. I don't even post much on DOL.

So why?

Because what Jed did shows true compassion, love and everything I treasure in humans.

Because not many would have the courage to sacrifice their own well-being for animals.

Because she's saved lives.

So Jane/Jed, you have my admiration and respect.

I will be lighting the candle of hope each and every day until you are well.

I will be thinking of you and wishing you full and speedy recovery.

Get well. Jed, get well.

Edited to apologise for the "big" words. Somehow they best express what I feel

Anna that was lovely and sums up how I feel also.

Popping in for my daily check in - have brought some homemade apple crumble & vanilla ice cream for you all and extra ice cream for the furries.

Continuing to send healing vibes and love.

Jed is slowly improving, a bit better each day

Don't forget the auctions are still running, and I see Steve has a heap of great stuff available at the moment.

Thanks for all the support, I know it will mean a lot to Jed.

So glad to hear this Toohey..

Katdog

Will crawl back into my corner and hug my dogs now, and Harminee will wave her magic wand and make us al cheery again.

Oh I don't know if my magic wand has anything to do with this place being so cheery, I think its the beautiful combination of the visitors themselves.. and their furbabies and their sense of humour and imagination..

Katdog, if the corner is where you feel comfortable, then that.s ok,,, i'm sure there is a horde of animals keeping you company.. just yell if you need help getting out from under all of them

Me too. Always cheering to hear of even the smallest improvement in her condition!

Thank you Toohey for your efforts in keeping us informed...much appreciated. Love to you, Jed and her family.

Anna, beautiful sentiments.

*helps self to some apple crumble and ice cream (thanks Georgie-Boy) and squeezes self between a couple of furry bodies on one of the couches. "Don't grumble at me, you're lucky you're ON the couch, now wriggle over." *

Mornin' Jed,

Just popping in with a HUGE CWA-type teapot full of Earl Grey tea, cups and toast for all those guys that have been here all night.

treats for the dogs as well.

If someone would remove the sleepy cats chis, cavs & cairn off the table I will set it all down.

Just watch the St Bernard and Akita that are eyeing everything off from the vantage point under the table as well...they are well-known toast-grabbers.

Be well Jed.

edited to fix spellin'

I love being here and sharing the warmth and the laughter of this special place while we wait for Jed to emerge and probably chase us all out for our enthusiastic karaoke!

It is a little cold in Melbourne this morning but still feeling pretty temperate for a Kiwi Chick! (stop complaining you Aussie wusses!!!)

How sweet of the Dalai Lama to be thinking of you Jed - you have many more friends and well-wishers than I bet you had ever dreamed!!

Hang in there!
