My tastes are actually becoming more predictable as time goes on. I remember once upon a time I had a dog from every group and every conceivable breed history in my lists. The more I research, the more refined my tastes get, the more I start think that I know what I really want.

The Saluki comes in at number 11, but I'll admit right now that that is simply because they are the most beautiful dog in the world. I doubt I'll ever be a good owner for one. I still love the utility gundogs and I hope I'll own one - one day (probably a Vizsla). But I really love the littlies. There are a couple of other smaller breeds that fascinate me such as the Schipperke, the Miniature Pinscher and Swedish Vallhund, but probably not to own. I fell in love with the greyhound when I first met them. Lovely dogs.

Whippet, of course

Italian Greyhound

Cirneco dell'Etna

red miniature poodle

If we're allowed to have wild breeds

wolf

coyote

fox, I know, it's not a dog.

African Hunting dog

Yes, I realise they're all completely impractical and impossible

I'll have to think about the rest

the other pets I'd like to have are

the old fashioned siamese

a bengal

a ferret or two

and I'd like to mate Pagan with a Welsh D and the following year with an Andalusian

Oh, nearly forgot

a cockatiel, that would always be loose and would sit on my shoulder, and maybe some other kind of parrot.

of course none of this is going to happen.

Nice to see poodles coming up on people's lists.

They seriously are such awesome dogs! :o

Not that I'm biased or anything.

whippets are pretty popular too.

Thats just because they are so good!

Poetry in motion, good looking and sooky - perfect combination - oh and not much hair to drop is a good thing too

i forgot i would have a standard poodle i think these dogs are just gorgess. i hae meet 3 and groomed 2 and the white one just blew me away she was a rescue and hated men. but she just had a heart of gold and loved being groomed.

they are soooo smart and the ones i have meet where very protective and just did not like some people.

one day maybe but i think i would have to sneak it in on my o/h and then let him lern to love them.
